

New awards categories for 2024
The full list of awards categories for the MEP Awards 2024 can be viewed below.
Nominations for the MEP Awards 2024 open on 26th October 2023 and close on December 13th 2023.
Details of how the nominations will be shortlisted and how the judging process works can be found here.
This year, there are only three categories in which the public can put forward nominations which are:
- APA of the Mandate
- MEP of the Mandate
- Staffer Outstanding Contribution to Parliament
For the remaining five categories, we will be pleased to receive your suggestions via email if you would like to put forward names!

APA of the Mandate

Awarded to an Accredited Parliamentary Assistant (APA) who has demonstrated a real commitment to assist politicians in making good policy. We will be not only looking for those who have worked on the biggest files, but also those who have a proven track record of facilitating discussions amongst stakeholders, who have gone the extra mile to unearth fact, figures and human stories to shape the best policy.
MEP of the Mandate

Awarded to an MEP who has gone above and beyond in their duties during the 9th parliamentary term. This Award will recognise hard work, dedication, innovation, and integrity for the duration of the mandate. It’s not just the Rapporteur on the biggest files we will be looking for, but true dedication to the institutions.
Staffer Outstanding Contribution to Parliament

Given to a member of staff who has dedicated their career to supporting the European Parliament. This Award seeks to recognise those who work behind the scenes powering Parliament.
European Values Champion of the Mandate

For contributions to standing up for and/or promoting European values (as defined in the Lisbon Treaty) within Europe and on the global stage, strengthening human rights, justice, and the rule of law.
Youth Champion of the Mandate

For contributions to furthering young people’s opportunities such as jobs, internships, education, housing etc. Open to MEPs of any age who have championed youth issues.
Speech of the Mandate

This award will go to the MEP who has managed to impress in the hemicycle with their ability to articulate their views on an issue with passion, intellect and emotion.
MEP Lifetime Achievement

Awarded to someone who had dedicated their life to European politics and has managed to cut across party political boundaries to demonstrate a commitment to public service, diplomacy, and the democratic process.
Special 20th anniversary Award

Going beyond the Brussels bubble, this all-time first award will recognise the achievements of a European politics’ figure from Member States.
