TATA group was founded by Jamsetji Tata in 1868, the Tata group is a global enterprise headquartered in India, comprising over 100 independent companies operating in over 100 countries across six continents. Our combined turnover in 2016 was $103 billion; with international revenues representing 69% of turnover; 10 Tata companies register turnover of over $1 billion. These companies collectively employ over 600,000 people. We have 29 publicly-listed Tata enterprises with a combined market capitalisation of about $116 billion (FY2016). Tata in Europe
Tata Limited was established in the UK in 1907 and now represents [Tata Sons and] the group in Europe. Nineteen Tata companies have a physical presence in Europe and many others have strong business relationships. We have some 60,000 employees across the region. Tata companies with a presence in Europe include established brands such as Jaguar Land Rover and Tetley Tea, along with the St James Court A Taj Hotel and Taj 51 Buckingham Gate, the Bombay Brasserie and Quilon. In addition, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Steel Europe, Tata Chemicals Europe, Tata Communications, Tata Motors, Tata Elxsi, Tata International, Tata Capital and others have operations and/or offices in Europe.
Since 2007 Tata has invested more than £4.5 billion in Europe. Making it Tata’s largest market outside of India, generating a combined revenue of $25 billion in FY 2014.
